About Dendere
Dendere is a manufacturer and marketer of high-end consumer household appliances in Africa. It emerged out of Openedge Media’s incubator Black Box, in partnership with Adrenalin –the ideas company, which seeks to create innovative products that solve problems in Africa, with an end to improving the living standards of the African consumer.
The Dendere Automated Pap Maker is a revolutionary Pap-making appliance, developed by Openedge and successfully patented in 2017. The innovation has gone through various stages of prototyping, and is now ready for Design for manufacturing ahead of full-scale manufacturing operations.
The Dendere Smart Homes Appliances project received the approval of the Coega Industrial Development Zone and was allocated 4 Hectares in Zone 5 Coega Industrial Development Zone in the Eastern Cape, where it intends to build its R402 million manufacturing operations. A further R48 million rand is required for the importation of bespoke manufacturing equipment.

Our Team
Bester Zambuko
Bester is a co-Founder of Openedge Media, and holds an MBA (2017) from Steinbeis University’s School of Innovation Management. During the three-year programme, Bester had the opportunity to undergo work-related learning in New York, San Francisco,
Shanghai and Tokyo, which honed in his skills as a cross-cultural global creative leader. Before that Bester had matriculated at the same University in 2013. He also hold a Diploma in Design for Print from the Harare Polytechnic (1996). Bester is also
the Chairman of Tropicool Blinds, Shutters & Awnings, a soft furnishings manufacturer and retailer in South Africa and Zimbabwe. He has also been recognized by various awards platforms in his individual capacity as an entrepreneur and businessman.
Nompumelelo P. Gamedze-Phasha
Phasha is an attorney of the High Court in South Africa and the Managing Director of a female owned law firm based in Gauteng, South Africa. She has a proven track record of more than 16 (sixteen) years of commercial and litigation experience in the information communications and technology industry.
She has negotiated a variety of complex commercial agreements. Phasha became a shareholder of Adrenalin in 2021, and is part of the leadership.
Non-Executive Director - Andy
Andy runs lucky7, an independent Creative+Data agency in London, UK. Lucky7 creates connected campaigns that flow seamlessly from traditional advertising, through to relevancy-boosting digital content, and into hardworking addressable. Before starting lucky7, Andy was founding executive creative director of Interpublic’s UM Studios.
In previous roles, he was MTV’s first ever head of youth strategy, and also founding director of Newcast, Publicis’ global strategic partnerships division.
